Payment Terms

The first installment, certificate fee and possible shipping are due at the first insemination.
The second installment is due 70 days later, unless a negative pregnancy certificate is presented.
The mare owner is obliged to inform us if the mare is not in foal.
All prices are subject to VAT.
Semen boxes must be returned.

Note: "New breeders" should be aware that if the mare does not get pregnant in the first insemination period, the mare can be inseminated again without paying another first installment (the first installment is a one-time fee). Only additional semen shipments are paid. This applies for the current breeding season.

If insemination is to be registered in another breeding association than Danish Warmblood, the mare owner must provide a "Deckschein".

Quantity Discount on Insemination

The more mares you have inseminated in a season, the more discount:

• 2 own mares: 10% discount on the second installment
• 3 own mares: 12.5% discount on the second installment
• 4 or more own mares: 15% discount on the second installment
• More than 6 own mares: 20% discount on the second installment

The second installment is due 70 days after the last insemination if the mare is pregnant. If the mare is not pregnant, a negative pregnancy certificate must be submitted.

Mares inseminated for the first time after July 15, 2025, and that do not get pregnant, will have the first installment transferred to 2026.

Reservations regarding competition participation

For some stallions, there may be absence due to competition. In such cases, the mare can only be inseminated with frozen semen. Insemination costs for frozen semen are paid by the mare owner.

Transported semen – Stutteri Ask & Blue Hors stallions

Semen can be ordered Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday between 7:30 – 9:00 at phone +45 65 34 25 65 or via the order form on the website.

Chilled semen can be shipped or picked up by agreement if the mare is to be inseminated at home.

Terms of Business for Transported Semen

All costs (insemination and shipping) are paid by the mare owner.

Shipping by courier truck: 350 DKK + VAT per dose (including return of semen boxes). Only in the period 1/4 – 15/8 2025.

Delivery Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at fixed locations in Jutland, Funen and Zealand.

Kaj Rosenlund (only Funen, and by appointment): 350 DKK + VAT per dose.

Semen may not be resold.

Embryo Transfer

If embryo transfer is desired, this must be stated at the first semen order.

In case of successful flushing of several embryos, an additional first installment is due, as well as a second installment when the recipient mare is 70 days pregnant.

ICSI

ICSI can only be performed at VetEmbryo. When used, a fee of 1,000 DKK + VAT is paid. This amount will then be deducted from the first and second installment, which are due when the recipient mare is 50 days pregnant.

Does not apply to Blue Hors Zack:
First installment when frozen semen is used: 5,000 DKK + VAT
Second installment (when the mare is 50 days pregnant): 10,000 DKK + VAT

Terms regarding defects

Lack of pregnancy or defects in the foal are not considered defects of the semen or the insemination.
